Opal McKeehan Goodin

Opal McKeehan Goodin, 95, of Corbin, passed away February 21, 2017 at Baptist Health of Corbin,

She was born February 16, 1922 in Corbin to the late Howard and Betty  (Woods) Tye.

Opal worked for AT&T  for many years until her retirement in 1980, she belonged to the Pioneers and was of the Baptist faith.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by, her husband A.T. Goodin, her son Jimmy Dale McKeehan, brother Glen Tye, and two sisters and their husbands Georgia Ward, husband Carl and Jeanette Scalf, husband William (Bill).

She is survived by daughter Jean Taylor and husband Tommy of Louisville, and two sons Bill McKeehan  and Carla Harris and Ozene McKeehan and wife Carol all of Corbin; special friends and caregivers, Edith Evans, and Kathy Garrison, plus grandchildren, and great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

Funeral services were held Saturday, February 25, at the O’Neil-Lawson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bobby Joe Eaton officiating.

Burial followed in the Corinth Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

O’Neil-Lawson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
