Red Cross Club seeks donations

Date:

When the Corbin High School Red Cross Club was organized in March 2020, it was with the goal of following the American Red Cross mission statement to assist those suffering from a disaster.

Whatever has resulted in an individual’s stay at Baptist Health Corbin, the club is seeking to assist the individual and any family members to pass the time.

To do that, the club has organized a donation drive to provide small presents for patients and the families.

“Patients can get restless in hospitals. Families can get hungry in waiting rooms, and children can be scared waiting for procedures,” club officials explained.

The items the club is asking for include:

• Pens, pencils and/or crayons

• Small notebooks/notepads

• Toys

• Plush animals

• Clothing, including t-shirts, sweatshirts, sweatpants, underwear and pajamas suitable for all ages and sizes

• Individually wrapped snacks which will be made available to both patients and staff

Items may be dropped off at Corbin High School.

Officials noted the deadline for the donation drive is Feb. 26. Only new items will be accepted.

“The CHS Red Cross Club needs your help to donate small items to comfort patients, families and children, and to show appreciation to the hard-working medical staff at Baptist Health Corbin,” club officials stated.
