A ribbon cutting event was held last Wednesday at the Dayspring Regional Health Center (DRHC) in Williamsburg, welcoming local leaders and community members alike to tour the new facility and learn about what it has to offer.
The facility officially opened to the public over the summer with primary medical services, though many of the specialty services have since become operational. The pharmacy at DRHC began serving customers last month and Dayspring Health Chief Executive Officer Larry Rector told the News Journal during last week’s event that the lab and diagnostic services would be up and working very soon.
Among the other services being offered at the facility include: primary care, mental health therapy, women’s health/obstetrics, dentistry, physical therapy and chiropractic.
DRHC also now offers telehealth services through new MedPod machines, which allows patients to have easy access to specialists or other types of providers that may not be immediately available within the facility.
Williamsburg Mayor Roddy Harrison commended Dayspring Health on the work that has been done to transform what was previously a call center location into a state-of-the-art medical facility, calling the space “beautiful.”
DRHC is a 50,000 square foot comprehensive medical center that is meant to be a one-stop shop for the community that it serves. The new facility was built to address the common issue of access to quality healthcare by providing a medical home with numerous services in one location.
