Roy Lee Croley, 83, was born on the 14th of November, 1941, in Williamsburg, Kentucky, the beloved son of the late William and Myrtle (Rose) Croley.
Raised in a large, loving family, he was a brother to many. He took his final rest on the 11th of September, 2025, leaving behind a life that was rich in relationships, marked by a deep love for his family, and characterized by an unwavering love.
Roy graduated from University of Cumberland with an Bachelors of Science in Education and the University of Louisville receiving a Masters in Principal and Administration. Roy retired from the Bullitt County Board of Education retiring as an Assistant Principal. Even in retirement, he was known for his willingness to lend a helping hand and his ready smile. He enjoyed traveling, gardening and researching his family trees and genealogy. He was a pillar of strength and kindness to those who knew him, and his love for his family was evident in his commitment to his surviving siblings, Joann Lay of Corbin, Kentucky and JP Croley of Williamsburg, Kentucky.
He was also a proud uncle to many nieces and nephews and leaves behind a host of other family and friends who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Myrtle Croley; brothers, JT Croley, Jack Croley, Floyd Croley, RC Croley, Archie Croley, and Arthur Croley; twin sister, Retha Croley; and sisters, Irene Frazier, and Elsie Owens; his aunt, Elsie Walters; uncle Bill Walters; and special cousin, Joy Charles also passed before him.
The funeral service was Monday, September 15th with Rev. Matt Rydner officiating at the Croley Funeral Home.
Following the service, Roy’s interment took place at the Croley Addition Highland Cemetery, in Williamsburg.
