Thirteen meth labs found in Corbin residence Thursday; one arrested

Numerous active meth labs were discovered at a Corbin residence Thursday following an investigation by the Knox County Sheriff’s Department, and one man has been arrested in connection with the case.

According to Knox County Sheriff John Pickard, police received a complaint of a strange smell emanating from 1014 Standard Ave. Thursday. Deputy Sheriff Claude Hudson went to the home and made contact with Michael Scott Creech at the residence. Hudson obtained consent to search the home from Creech.

Once inside, Hudson discovered "multiple active meth labs" throughout the residence. Creech was immediately placed under arrest.

A total of 13 meth labs was discovered at the home along with 10 HCL generators and other meth ingredients like cans of Coleman fuel and lithium batteries. Police say there was a camera system monitoring the driveway and front of the residence. Some finished methamphetamine was also found.

Pickard along with Chief Deputy Derek Eubanks, Deputy Adam Townsley, Deputy Chad Wagner and Kentucky State Police Trooper Brian Maupin assisted at the scene. The KSP D.E.S.I. Meth Team also responded in order to disassemble the meth labs.

Creech was charged with 13 counts of manufacturing methamphetamine, first-degree possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of meth precursors and possession of a radio that sends/receive police messages. He was lodged in the Knox County Jail.

Wagner is continuing an investigation into the case.
