Arnold David Grant

Arnold David Grant of Rockholds, Kentucky (Flat Creek Community), passed away on December 15, 2025 at the Hazard ARH Medical Center. David was born in Knox County, Kentucky on December 14, 1954 and he lived his entire life there.
David was preceeded in death by his father, Fred Grant; his mother, Cleda Grant; two brothers, Leslie Lee Grant, and Hubert Grant; and two sisters, Mary Elliott and Eunice Hill.
He is survived by his sisters, Hazel Hill, and husband Loyall of Rockholds, Kentucky and Martha Grant of Dayton, Ohio; and a host of nieces and nephews. David is also survived by his very special friends, Chris and Shirley Storer, Larry Lee Helton and Sue Bunch.
David worked at Roper Products for many years after which he became a caregiver for his mother. He dedicated 15 years of his life caring for her.
He would read to her daily from the Old Testament and he read all of the Little House book series to her at least eight times. After her passing, he spent 10 years working in road construction.
The things that David enjoyed most was nature and being outside with his beloved dogs. He hunted ginseng, gathered walnuts, and walked many miles over the mountains of Flat Creek. His two favorite places were Cumberland Falls and Cumberland Gap.
David spent many years doing research of his family tree, collected countless photos and prepared copies to pass on to his nieces and nephews.
David was laid to rest at the Hubbs Cemetery on Flat Creek. There was a simple burial at the cemetery on December 19, with Barton Herrin Jr. officiating.
