Phyllis Parker

Phyllis Parker, 65, of Saxton, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2017, at the Jellico Community Hospital. She was born March 3, 1952, in Williamsburg, the daughter of the late Arville and Maudie (Perkins) Parker. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Jimmy John Parker. She is survived by two daughters, Petrina Dotson of Versailles, and Julia Michelle Black of London; six grandchildren;  two sisters, Thelma Duncan of Saxton, and Billie French of East Bernstead; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Ms. Parker was cremated and no services are planned. This obituary is a courtesy of Cox & Son Funeral Home.

Jimmy Edgar Herrell, 81, of Athens, TN passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at his residence. A native of Jellico and long time resident of Illinois and current resident of Athens. He was the son of the late Johnny Robert Herrell and Carrie Minnie Hackler Herrell and was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Olga Nehrkorn Herrell; one son, John Herrell; one daughter, Carrie Davis and several brothers. Imogene Lou King, 91, of Corbin, passed away on Friday, March 10, 2017, at Corbin Health and Rehabilitation. Born in Laurel County, she was the daughter of the late Marion Walker and Anna Stansbury Walker. She was also preceded in death by her husband James D. King, and son Jimmy Lynn King. Robert Dale Carroll

Robert Dale Carroll, 65, of Corbin passed away Monday, March 6, 2017. Born April 6, 1951, he was the son of the late Bill and Margaret Carroll. He leaves behind two daughters: Jessica Carroll and Candis Carroll; seven grandchildren: Savannah Gross, Madisun Carroll, Duane Carroll, Amerah Reynolds, Aubriee Carroll, Ana Carroll, and Leighton Carroll; as well as other relatives and numerous friends to mourn his passing. Funeral services were held Friday, March 10, in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Vernon Morris officiating. Burial followed in McFarland Cemetery at Woodbine. William “Bill” Moye,  89, of Corbin, passed away on Monday, March 6, 2017 at Baptist Health Corbin. Born in San Antonio, Texas, Bill was the son of the late Robert M. Moye and Mercy Dupree Moye.
