Tootsie Imogene Frechette, 83, passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at her home in Rockholds. A private graveside service was held by the family at Frechette Family Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Marilyn Johnson, 78, the wife of the late Curtis Johnson of Adkins Street, Corbin, passed away on Tuesday evening at the Baptist Health Hospital in Corbin. A Celebration of Life Gathering was held Friday the family room at Laurel Funeral Home.

Robert “Randy” Laws, 61, of Woodbine, passed away on Saturday March 18, 2017 at Baptist Health in Corbin. He was born in Kinston, NC, and was a car show enthusiast who loved working on his truck. Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Jakie and Hazel Davis Laws. He is survived by his sisters, Diane Hensley and Sandra McFadden and husband Roger all of Woodbine; nieces and nephews, Dwane Hensley, Elizabeth Young, Matthew McFadden, Rebecca Litteral, and Mark McFadden; numerous aunts and uncles; as well as, a host of great nieces and great nephews, all who he dearly loved. Wanda F. Mahan, 69, of Williamsburg, went to be with the Lord and family at Corbin Health and Rehabilitation Center on Friday March 17, 2017 after a long struggle with cancer. She was born October 9, 1947 to the late Creed and Lucy Ledford of Girdler, Ky. She will be forever in the hearts of all those that she was blessed to have in her life. Donnie Wayne Peace, 69, of Williamsburg, passed away Wednesday March 15, 2017 at his home. He was born April 14, 1947 in Bell County. Cathy Prewitt, 69, passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2017, at Baptist Health Corbin. Born in San Francisco, CA, she was the daughter of the late Elmer Prewitt, M.D.  and Madge Jones Prewitt. Cathy was Baptist by faith. She had taught for 25 years at both Corbin High School and Corbin Middle School. Ancil E. Hill, 82, of Portage, passed away Monday, February 20, 2017. He was born on August 6, 1934 in Williamsburg, to the late Ancil and Grace Hill. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. Ancil was employed as a Mobile Equipment Mechanic at US Steel, and retired in 1987. After his retirement, he worked as a truckdriver for Howell Tractor for over ten years.
