Coverage area high school basketball teams were back in action Tuesday night after recent snowy and icy conditions canceled several scheduled contests over the past week. It was a night that featured four seeding games in the 50th District, as the South Laurel Cardinals and Lady Cardinals visited Corbin while the Williamsburg Yellow Jackets and Lady Jackets made the short trip across town to Whitley County High School. Specifically, it’s time again for the Annual Cumberland Falls Invitational Tournament at Corbin High School. Whether it’s serving with her racket on the tennis court or serving patients in a hospital setting, Corbin High School senior Lindsay Jones knows how to get the job done. A four-time regional champion, she is no stranger to performing in high-pressure situations. Coming off a 17-14 season, the Williamsburg Yellow Jackets saw noticeable improvement last year from the season before, but still fell short of some of the lofty goals Head Coach Anthony Hibbard had hoped to achieve. The Corbin Redhounds are one win away from another Kentucky High School Athletic Association state championship berth, but standing in their way is a Paducah Tilghman Blue Tornado team that is trying to keep their impressive undefeated season alive.
