Complaints of possible drug activity lead police to fugitive

A fugitive was located in Whitley County Wednesday evening after complaints of possible drug activity were made to the Whitley County Sheriff’s Office.

Williamsburg Police, Kentucky State Police, and the Whitley County Sheriff’s Office responded to the home at 637 Betty West Road in Whitley County and located Kenneth M. Jody, 26, hiding in the woods behind the residence.

Jody was arrested on three outstanding Whitley County warrants for failure to appear, contempt of court, and non-payment of fines.

According to a release, booking officers at the Whitley County Detention Center discovered approximately one gram of crystal methamphetamine concealed on Jody’s person.

Jody was also charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance and first-degree promoting contraband.

Jody remains in the Whitley County Detention Center.
