Corbin student athletes appeared on the KHSAA 2A Track and Field State Tournament podium nine times on Friday.
The girls 4x800 meter relay team took the highest spot on the podium coming in second and setting a new school record.
Hadley Elmore placed fourth in pole vault.
Masyn Elam placed fifth in triple jump.
Hartlee Viars stood at the seventh place spot on the podium for 400 meter dash.
Creed Davies, Kaleb Terrell, Isaiah Curry and Kobe Dixon shared the number eight spot for their team’s effort during the boys 4x800 meter relay.

Corbin will play in the semifinals of the 13th Region Baseball Tournament hosted at North Laurel after defeating first round opponents.
Corbin beat out the tournament host with a 9-2 win over the North Laurel Jaguars.
They will take on Knox Central for their chance to play in the championship game on Thursday.

The game, which was supposed to be played at Jackson County, was moved to South Laurel due to the weather.
Like the baseball tournament, the games scheduled for Tuesday were postponed until Wednesday.
Corbin will play Clay County at 7 p.m. on May 27 for their chance to take on the winner of the North Laurel versus South Laurel game.
Corbin’s last region softball title was earned back in 2022.

In 1A track and field, Williamsburg hosted the Class 1A Region 6 meet.
Williamsburg will send 18 students to the state meet on Thursday. Those students include: Tatum Croley, Savannah Dabney, Rylie Davis, Lynsie Durham, Nick Hale, Peyton Hamilton, Zaden Housekeeper, Zyler Housekeeper, Bella Jeffries, Lane Jeffries, Eli Meadors, Chase Meddles, Landin Miller, Ethan Moses, Kaylee Rains, Makenna Stephens, Gary Tye and Abigail Workman.

Knox Central and Lynn Camp met in the 51st District Championship game Tuesday night.
Much like the 50th District tournament, it was a rematch of last year’s game.
During that meeting, Knox Central won 16-0.
The two teams met up one other time this season.
Knox Central won that match up 17-0.
The last time Lynn Camp defeated Knox Central was in May 2003.
That trend continued as Lynn Camp lost 18-0 to Knox Central in this year’s 51st District championship game Tuesday in Pineville.
